- How to Use
You’re putting away the last of the dishes when you notice that rough spot across your knuckle again. Calendula & Chamomile Tallow Balm is for those little patches that could use some extra moisture, like the skin around your nails or the dry spot on your elbow you notice when you pull on a sweater.
I make this balm with beef tallow infused with calendula and chamomile from my garden, without added essential oils. The tallow gives it a rich texture that helps soften rough skin and hold in moisture.
It’s the kind of little jar that’s handy to keep by the sink, where you’ll see it after you’ve dried your hands and before you move on to the next thing.
Massage a small amount into dry skin.
Calendula & Chamomile Tallow Balm
Ingredients & Benefits
• Beef tallow softens rough skin and helps hold in moisture.
• Calendula flowers are traditionally infused into oils for salves that soothe skin. I infuse them directly into the tallow.
• Chamomile flowers have a history of use in soothing herbal baths and skin washes. I use the flowers in the tallow infusion alongside the calendula.
• Olive oil softens the balm so a small dab spreads easily.
• Beeswax gives the balm enough body to hold its shape in the jar.
